The sea rushes, retreats
Crabshells bright, starfish exposed
In the distance a line, sharp
Drawing close
And you’re still on the beach asking, “Where’d the water go?”

…actually, why not?
The sea rushes, retreats
Crabshells bright, starfish exposed
In the distance a line, sharp
Drawing close
And you’re still on the beach asking, “Where’d the water go?”

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?
Time is relative.
7 a.m. coffee to work through edits because deadlines.
3 a.m. and you’re writing because if you don’t, the idea is gone, and you will never get it back again. Ever.

What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?
Breathe.
That email can wait. Yes, it can.
Take real breaks.
Put your phone away at least one hour before you go to bed.
Slow down.
Enjoy the little things.
Make good moments.
Time is the one thing you will not get back again.

What do you do to be involved in the community?
Identify a community need you can fulfil, however small.
Then set aside time and energy to fulfil it.
#humpday
How would you improve your community?
Show up consistently, even when it’s tough.
Take time to spend time. It may seem like a small thing, but taking the time to spend time together shows you value the people you want to connect with.
Talking about it is not enough. You actually have to do it.
