what life is for

shades of blue
highlighting dusk

summer quiet in the streets

warmth descending
flames flickering
on blackened wicks

lighting an evening

where stories are told
in many voices
laughter filling the dark

never mind messages
sent and received
shining off polished screens

this here
is what life is for:
hours of togetherness
moments of bliss.

presence

silhouette

of the body, in the soul
woman is made and known
beyond the sight
alone
a moment’s breath
life, liquid
welling deep into invisible bone

of the body, with the body
curving, slopes are borne
high and heavy, known
a moment’s step
smooth along the palm
holding, holding

of the body, with the soul
silk and velvet, living
a moment’s sight
open rays in stars, shining
knowing, knowing
known.

small miracles

ice cream 3 tina brok hansen tinbrokhansen dot blogspot dot dk

sometimes you find
the miracle already happened
before you even saw it
for what it was

sometimes the spark
lights up a fire so high
so bright
you know the warmth first
before you decipher
the flame, the light

sometimes life is made of
small miracles
piled up
one on top of the other
helping you, quietly
to make that sudden leap

and then it’s just that:
your life.

life and time

image

asleep in the rise
of a star
set against light
passing
in lifetimes, twinned
against systems
nebulous
as far as they are wide
daunting
we circumvent
a sun

one look
the night sky
and the past gazes
back, calmly

ancient is the dark
that holds our sun
light so holy
so necessary
to us all
as we go
gently, gently
into that good
night

so bright
stardust, twinkling
alive.

first of summer

balance _ railroad beautifulosophy dot com meadow _ promenade by yvan lemeur on flickr ice cream from sundaes and cones _ paris in four months on flickr

green golden meadows
spread lush out
into the sky
seamed dark by cool pines
lemony white
a butterfly

fluttering in bright bushes
over at the birches, an argument
one nest chirps, the other disagrees
and two cats doze in the sun
listening

while mother and daughter
walk by quietly
one calm, the other happy

that first taste of ice cream
remember?
how the days go by
peaceful, serene.
