The Book

What are you most excited about for the future?

*closes eyes*

This I speak into the Universe:

My book will be published well. It will be beautiful. It will be read. And readers will love it, enjoy it, and talk about it to others.

#writing

just a thought

It’s Valentine’s Day
and for those of you
who aren’t
all wrapped up with someone else
here’s a thought – for we are humans
with beating hearts
and souls not built for loneliness:

So, take heart.
Oh, and tomorrow is Monday for everyone ;).

there is light

waves 4

the sword of a soothing look
cuts loose the meteor of affection

*

joy withers
in a moment of crisp
bright, brittle
understanding
frissoned with threads of doubt

of sight and senses
but the heart knows
what is meant
and will not concede to
willful self
deceit

*

three heartbeats worth of relief
hope restored
there is light
no comet flashing
stark against the void

but an ancient fire
kindled by the first of flames
alive, living
knowing, known.

if

the questions we all ask ourselves
quietly, silently
terrified
or shy, defiant:

if I write
will they read
if I tell
will they listen
if I am
will I be

good enough
brave enough
that one true thing:
au.then.tic?

always, always
like a river rushing, raging
spreading into deltas of doubt

if I do
will I deliver
if I see
will they believe
if I try
will I succeed?

maybe in all this
the point is to not give in
to keep on going
to try and try again
until you can finally plant that mustard-seed.

Zeph, my friend
you would know
of the greatness in open spaces
green and bright

between the words
and whispers
that moment, after dark
the hesitation
the palpitations
rising with the hand to light

hoping for beauty
to come true in impending dreams
that vast tenderness
that antithesis of night
